5/15/09 An Open Boat ran today with Scott Gessner and friend Mike for some striper fishing. With ocean not looking to good we made our way to the Graveling point area. Water temp was 63 and we had the incoming tide to work with. Got the four lines out and the chum bucket and had some small taps on the lines. First striper to the boat was about 10 inched and it did not feel like anything on the line. Shortly after that we have a strike and it was a striped one at 31 inches and fat. Then came another but this one was off and running and when it came to the boat it was a slammer blue. Since both of them do not eat blue is was released to fight another day. Then we had some down time and it was game on again with another 10 inch striper and that was followed by another 31 inch striped bass. It was a nice day when the wind would blow because the nats were out in force. Ended the day with 2 keeper bass. 5/16/09 Had out Mike Kraemer and his Step-Father for some stripers. The fog had lifted and the came right back as we left the dock. It made it a long ride to graveling point. Once we got to the point and found a nice spot we had about 1 hour before the tide would turn. Hoping for a great incoming tide. Once the lines were in the water we had a nice size blue. Had a feeling that once the tide turn it would be game on and when the tide did turn it was dead. We did not even see a nibble for the rest of the day. Bait was checked and checked again it looked like we were feeding the crabs. Since it was a four hour trip we fished until noon and then headed to the barn with the wind picking up. Water temp was 65 degrees. It looks like this week we will start to check the ocean for bunker and start to live line them. Call to book your next fishing trip 609-868-8970 Capt. Fran
