Inshore Fishing on Friday, July 24, 2009 Report posted by Capt. Lindsay Fuller of the June Bug on 7/27/09
June Bug fished the Patterson Family on Friday. Since one family member suffeered from mal de mer on their last outing, Senior Family Management instructed June Bug's crew that we were to inside the Inlet on this trip. So we did. We fished the channel in front of the Stink House thoroughly. We caught plenty of Fluke but they were all shorts. Every single one of them. We also caught one big Stargazer. We tried a drift in front of Little Beach and were driven off by the Greenhead Flies. There is no question that those insects were an engineering mistake by God. We then drifted the Beach Haven Channel from 113 north to well above 100. Nothing but Sea Lettuce. However, a 7-year old and a 10-year old find Sea Lettuce fascinating. They discovered all sorts of marine creatures that lived in the seaweed. Dinner was not secured but everyone had a great time.
